We believe your child can learn a great deal through free play and develop social skills by interacting with their peers. Keeping this in mind is how we designed our classrooms to foster your child’s creativity.
We have a formal curriculum for 4 and 5-year-olds to help your child get ready for kindergarten. Our goal is for your child eventually be able to:
- Sit during teacher led instruction for at least 30 minutes
- Have a firm grasp on the alphabet and letter recognition
- Ability to count to 20 and recognize numbers and understand quantities
- Establish correct pencil hold
- Ability to write their own name
Your child will get the opportunity to do arts and crafts to explore their creativity. Your child will also learn how to follow directions, respectfully obey and listen to parents and teachers, along with learning how to work well with their peers. To promote reading comprehension, your child will get to read daily and learn how to storytell through making their own picture books that will provide a solid foundation for future reading.
A Child’s Heart offers before and after school services. These fun after school activities will include snacks, crafts, puzzles, Legos, games, and teacher-led projects. We provide homework time, along with homework assistance, if needed. We also offer summer and school break programs that are packed with field trips, water days, science experiments, cooking, and art.
We are in the process of expanding our school age program and will be moving into our new building when it is finished in the fall of 2019! We will keep everyone posted on our progress and will share updates as they come.
