Immediately after hire:
After 90 days of employment and satisfactory performance review:
Vacation and sick leave are not currently paid time. Vacation leave must be scheduled at least one week (two weeks is preferred) in advance using the Time Off Request approval form. The form should be completed for approval after the staff member has made arrangements for coverage during their time off. Only one staff member per classroom may be absent at a time, unless there are unusual circumstances. The Director must be notified in advance of all absences and will approve or deny based on workloads and available coverage.
A Child's Heart is closed in observance of the following holidays:
If the holiday falls on a weekend day, A Child's Heart will close during the week. For example, if New Year's Day falls on a Saturday, A Child's Heart may close on Friday. All staff members who have completed one year of employment and a positive performance review will receive pay for days which A Child's Heart is closed due to a holiday, if the center is closed on a regularly scheduled workday
Individual insurance coverage is available to all staff members after 90 days of employment. A Child's Heart contributes 50% of the individual insurance premium. If a staff member selects family health insurance coverage, the staff member will be responsible for 100% of the premiums for their spouse and/or child; A Child's Heart will contribute 50% to the individual premium. Coverage is provided by Aflac. The Director will provide additional information to eligible staff members.
After 1 year of employment and satisfactory performance review staff members will receive the following added benefits: Paid days off for holidays 8 days per year.

All staff members are eligible for discounted childcare. The Director will provide additional information to eligible staff members upon hire.
